May 2011 - This site is hopelessly out of date, but I am finished with grad school now and working on it again. I am updating it to use version 3 of the Google API so it will hopefully work well with mobile devices and be much more useful. It's going to take a while to code the upgrade and to confirm / recatalog all of the racks. In the meantime, I've added some of the downtown ones that have popped up within the past couple of years. Please be patient. Thanks!

I created this map after repeatedly locking my bike up to road signs and other stationary objects around Durham, only to find a bike rack near by a week later. There are many more bicycle racks around Durham, and with your help I hope to have them mapped in the near future. Thanks for visiting.
